About the event

Campers will visit the historic Willow River Cemetery and prehistoric Birkmose Park Mounds in Hudson as we learn about the histories and mysteries of both through these mini-field trips and hands-on activities at the Octagon House Museum, and answering questions like:

  • Who is buried in the mounds at Birkmose Park, and Willow River Cemetery, and what can these sites tell us about our past?

  • What is archaeology, and how can it help solve mysteries that history can’t?

  • How do cemeteries help us understand history?
