Research Request
Curious about your business, home, or ancestor? Let us know! We are best equipped to assist with local, Hudson-area research requests, but are happy to provide general assistance as we are able.
Research is free, although we always appreciate donations to help support our museum!
Donate Artifacts
Please note: we are currently unable to accept any 3D objects at this time, and can only consider paper documents, books, or photographs. We will be able to accept 3D objects again soon, when we complete our current inventory! Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Have an item you’d like to donate? Thank you for thinking of us! We have a special process to add something to our collection, as we have limited space and want to make sure that anything we accept, we can preserve.
Please fill out the form below to offer an item for consideration (mail or digital). A member of our Collections Committee will be in touch shortly upon receipt of the form.
The Octagon House Museum maintains two distinct collections:
-
Permanent: the Permanent Collection preserves objects and documents of significant historic interest, which are unique and/or fragile enough that they may only be displayed for exhibition or stored for research purposes.
-
Education & Use: the EU collection maintains objects and documents that are of a historical or vintage nature, for specific use in hands-on activities, events, programs, and rentals.
