Curious about your business, home, or ancestor? Let us know! We are best equipped to assist with local, Hudson-area research requests, but are happy to provide general assistance as we are able.

Research Guides

These research guides describe document and artifact materials in our collections. They are not exhaustive: there are many more items than are listed here! Please fill out a research request form with any questions (above).

Donate Artifacts

The Octagon House Museum maintains two distinct collections:

  • Permanent: the Permanent Collection preserves objects and documents of significant historic interest, which are unique and/or fragile enough that they may only be displayed for exhibition or stored for research purposes.

  • Education & Use: the EU collection maintains objects and documents that are of a historical or vintage nature, for specific use in hands-on activities, events, programs, and rentals.

Have an item you’d like to donate? Please fill out the form below to offer an item for consideration (mail or digital). A member of our Collections Committee will be in touch shortly upon receipt of the form.

St. Croix County Connect

Though the Octagon House Museum is no longer owned or operated by the St. Croix County Historical Society, SCCHS maintains a resource directory for all the local history organizations in the county (of which the Hudson Area History Connection is one).
