Public Facing Volunteer Roles
Storytellers: Share the history of the Octagon House, Moffat-Hughes Family, and the surrounding area with visitors as tour guides, reenactors, presenters, interpreters, and docents.
Greeters: Welcome visitors, receive and record admissions, share information about tours, experiences, events, shoppe, and history resources and services.
Shoppe Keepers: Greet visitors, receive and record purchases, arrange merchandise.
Educators: Help share history through educational programming.
Special Events: Help with teas, work the annual yard sale, assist with events like Hudson Christmas Tour of Homes and Civil War Encampment.
